It is always nerve-racking as a father to give your child their first blessing. I've never been long winded when it comes to blessings and my testimony, I guess because I want to get to the point and remove the "fluff" from story-monies and blessings. I never have understood why some people try to bless their child from birth to death with the "ideal" laundry list of what they should do in life (i.e. get baptised, go on a mission, find a mate and marry in the temple, raise children, etc.). Maybe I'm missing the picture but I try not to give a patriarchal blessing (although technically I am the "patriarch" in my family). I guess I just get tired of hearing "I'd like to bear my testimony..." type of fathers blessings. I guess if that is what the Spirit dictates then what can I say?Anyway, for those of you who missed it we took some pictures of the get together we had after the blessing and posted them here. Thank you to every one who had a hand in the circle and thanks to those who couldn't make it but still remembered us in your prayers. Also thanks to those who have helped us in so many other ways (you know who you are:)

we are dying to meet that baby! come onto chicago, see our new house, check out a bears game, and come visit us--you guys are overdue for a trip somewhere. make it here. pretty pleeeeease!
I wish more than anything that we could have been there. I love the sleeping picture SO much....my gosh she is gorgeous.
And seeing the pictures on a nineteen inch screen is MUCh better than a 1 1/2" x 2" screen.
I have my computer up and running now,,,,,and I can comment AND see the pictures better. YAY.
And YAY for no Story-monies. I didn't get my Free-Space this month in Testimony bingo. I was so disappointed.

Such a little joy!!! Oh my goodness...words cannot describe how precious she looks in the pictures! You guys are such a good looking family!
